The McKenzie FIX is a musical project by Edinburgh born, London based musician Ewan McKenzie. His music has been described as kaleidoscopic alternative pop. This isn’t the only time I’ve covered the artist either, and you can click here to check that out. Today, though, I’ll be reviewing his debut single ‘Alone’ which was released July 3rd 2020.
‘Alone’ opens sharply, with some powerful and haunting piano chords, that merges perfectly with McKenzie’s melodic voice, instantly you are enraptured and carried away by the smooth, floating melody. I also like that you can make out his accent, so often Scottish singers are encouraged to hide it, but I’m glad this doesn’t hold true for this artist. I love the ambient, sonorous vibes of the track and I’m incredibly excited for more from McKenzie.
So that’s what I thought of The McKenzie FIX and his single ‘Alone’ and if you want to check that out for yourself then head on over to Spotify. Make sure and support the artist by following them on Facebook and visiting their website.
