Maris is a pop singer/songwriter and musician from Los Angeles, California. Today I’ll be reviewing her single ‘Voicemail’ which was released October 20th 2023.
‘Voicemail’ opens with synthy percussion and tones overlaid atop a phone ringing and dialing out before breezing forward, energetic and high energy and yet not bombastic and frenzied. You still feel the vulnerability of Maris as she absolutely blows you away with her performance. This is my first experience with the artist and I’m in awe of her talent, and I’ll be keeping my eye out in the future as this track is just a stellar, animated and engaging entry and I’m eager to review some of her more recent tracks.
