Ruby Ibarra is a Bay Area based rap artist and musician. We’ve covered the artist before on Indie Light and you can click here to read more. Today, though, I’ll be reviewing her single ‘Switch’ which was released October 6th 2023.
‘Switch’ opens with building synthy tones that blend in with sharp and energetic percussion and Ibarra’s tight vocals. The previous track I reviewed by the artist was more vulnerable and melodic but this one has more momentum and edge and yet it manages to be absolutely captivating. The percussion especially when combined with Ibarra’s lyrics and flows create a really engaging performance. I particularly liked the big bouncy and drum roll elements towards the end which really finished things off on a high note.
