Regina Spektor is a Russian born, New York based singer/songwriter and musician. A classically trained pianist, her music nonetheless covers various genres, especially as she’s developed as an artist. Today I’ll be reviewing her single ‘The Call’ which was written and recorded for the film ‘The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian’ and was later released as a single on January 1st 2009.
‘The Call’ opens slow, light chords creating a beautiful support for Spektor’s phenomenal vocals, her voice, rich and powerful like a Disney Princess. I’ve loved this song for years, and when a recent track from the artist came across my feed I decided to review this one before taking a dive into the artists discography to experience more of her sensational performances. This track overall is relatively simple, the chords aren’t overly elaborate, nor is the vocal performance, and yet from that she manages to make something touching, emotional and incredibly powerful.
So that’s what I thought of Regina Spektor’s single ‘The Call’ which you can check out over on Spotify. While you’re at it, make sure and support the artist by following them on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
