Bklava is the performing name of Lara Sweeney, a musician, producer and DJ from London who creates genre defying tunes for all audiences. Today, I’ll be reviewing her single ‘turn this car around’ which was released June 7th 2024.

‘turn this car around’ opens with a far off trilling that bleeds into a building, atmospheric, synthy melody, and a rhythmic percussion that merges perfectly with Bklava’s vocals. Her voice is bright and engaging, especially as it picks up and the melody changes to a heavier, bass and percussion driven track. It’s really primal and energetic, and you get caught up in the performance. I like the slower moments, because they build anticipation for the more explosive, frenzied beats. All around it’s an incredibly well performed and produced track.
