Proper Youth are an American indie/dream-pop trio. They are made up of Adam Barito, Amy Nesky and Bobb Barito. Today, I’ll be reviewing their single ‘Edited Adrenaline’ which was released April 19th 2024.
‘Edited Adrenaline’ as the name would suggest has some nice heat, and momentum off the bat, but it’s restrained too, which also works with the name, it’s very even in tempo, the frenzied strings and percussion counterpointed beautifully with the slower more melodic vocals. It’s a really tight track that captures your attention, and seriously the instrumentals throughout have the right vibrancy, especially when balanced by the dreamy vocals. This is my first experience with Proper Youth, but rest assured after this track I’ll be keeping an eye out for the band in the future.
