Wasia Project is a musical project from sibling duo, William Gao and Olivia Hardy who perform a fusion of jazz, pop and indie music stylings. We’ve covered the group before on Indie Light and you can check that out by clicking here. Today, though, I’ll be reviewing their single ‘Takes Me Back Home’ which was released July 11th 2024.
‘Takes Me Back Home’ opens with slowly, Olivia’s devine vocals flowing in and absolutely captivating you, and slowly piano chords dance throughout. This song is deep and emotional, with the strings bringing just the right amount of richness and added vibrancy to the whole melody. This is a song that fills a room, and you feel its absence at the end of those three and a bit minutes. I’m continually impressed with the Wasia Project, because together they create songs that are just beautiful.
