Sad Alex is a talented singer/songwriter and musician from Los Angeles, California. She produces her own unique brand of sad pop which is as honest as it is catchy. We’ve covered Sad Alex before on Indie Light, and you can click here to read more. Today, though, I’ll be reviewing her single ‘happy later’ which was released May 31st 2024.

‘happy later’ opens fast, vocals kicking in immediately, Alex’s light and sweet voice, blending and counterpointing with featured artist Gavn’s deeper but still melodic voice. I loved the bass undertone to this track, it added a little bit of texture, as did the percussive elements, both incorporate and work alongside the melodious and bright vocals to create a really engaging track. Despite being a softer and more melancholic track, it has a nice energy and momentum which really set it apart and make it memorable.

So that’s what I thought of Sad Alex’s single ‘happy later’ which you can check out over on Spotify. While you’re at it, make sure and support the artist by following them on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
