Jenny Baker is a pop singer/songwriter and musician and much like a few other talented musicians we’ve talked about on Indie Light, is a graduate of the prestigious Berklee College of Music. Today I’ll be reviewing her single ‘HATE IT IN HERE’ which was released June 30th 2023.
‘HATE IT IN HERE’ opens with big ambient tones that blend into thrumming chords and Baker’s sensational voice. There’s a nice percussive beat laid over top of the core melody and you just get hammered by Baker’s emotional vulnerability and sincerity. While it’s a very emotive track the melody and the pacing give it a little bit more energy and make it catchy.
