Caroline Dare is a singer/songwriter and musician from Tennessee. We’ve covered her before on Indie Light and you can click here to read more. Today though I’ll be reviewing her single ‘gotta start somewhere’ which was released July 5th 2024.
‘gotta start somewhere’ kicks off with a bass and percussive driven beat, that blends into a synthy, electronic melody, and over the top of all that is Caroline’s breathtaking vocals, her voice pure and vulnerable and immediately I’m captivated. It also has a really nice energy, you feel the momentum carrying you through the track, but it’s not overwhelming, instead it just grips you and keeps your attention throughout. It’s also not generically pop catchy, instead it’s just a solid and well performed number that I’ll definitely be revisiting in the future.
