Aziya is a fantastically talented singer/songwriter and musician from London. We’ve covered the artist before on Indie Light and you can click here to read more. Today I’ll be reviewing her single ‘crush (tom verlaine)’ which was released June 7th 2024.

‘crush (tom verlaine)’ has a high energy, and yet subtly distorted intro, very guitar and percussion heavy, that just really fills up a room, and balances well with her softer, more melodic vocals. Something about it, whether it’s the beat, or the balance of vocals and instrumentals reminds me of Sunflower by Post Malone and Swae Lee, but even I can’t really place what I’m hearing that’s triggering the comparison. Either way, it’s a really good song that plays with highs and lows, fast and slow, and creates a really engaging audio balance.

So that’s what I thought of Aziya’s single ‘crush (tom verlaine)’ and you can check that out for yourself over on Spotify. While you’re at it, make sure and support the artist over on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
