KishaRyder is an Atlanta based singer/songwriter and who’s rap infused melodies speak to their journey, their troubles and their devotion to God. Today I’ll be reviewing their EP ‘Pain Management’ which was released on October 13th 2023.
‘TMC’ opens up with a spoken word section by a male vocalist, with a building synth infused melody, that bleeds into Kisha’s performance, her voice is spectacular, and throughout this opening number, you just get caught up in the flow of her delivery, and honestly I was immediately spellbound.
‘THE DETOUR’ has jaunty, synth keys, forming a solid structure to another standout performance from Kisha, this track has a slightly heavier and darker beat, which is balanced by the lyrics and message. I’m always grateful to get to listen to such talented and depth filled artists like this, it really makes this job worthwhile.
‘BIRD CALL’ opens with distorted male vocals that flow into some incredible delivery from Kisha, not a word wasted, just excellent control, and what a tremendous voice. I really like the percussive elements of this track, it adds in some audio texture to the performance, and makes this track really pop.
‘ANGELS CRY’ has a softer, more melodic opening, sweeping and gentle strings, with a deep percussive beat, and it really gives Kisha an opportunity to really show off her sensational vocal skills. It’s such a close decision because I’ve enjoyed everything on offer on this release, but I think this might be my personal favourite on the EP.
‘RIDIN IN A DEMON’ is darker and heavier after the lighter note of the previous track, and you really feel the intensity in Kisha’s performance in this song. This track is especially catchy, like I found it popping into my head once I was done with the review, and it’s easy to see why, it just really works and as always Kisha is on top form.
‘WRITINGS ON THE WALL’ closes things out on a high note, great melody and beat, vocals are absolutely on point, I especially liked the vocal harmonies which added a little something extra to the track as a whole.
So that’s what I thought of KishaRyder’s EP ‘Pain Management’ and if you want to check that out for yourself then head on over to Spotify. While you’re at it, make sure and support the artist by following them on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
