Sad Alex is the performing name of Alex Saad, a singer/songwriter and musician from Los Angeles. She tackles topics such as mental health, relationships and life with her pop infused melodies. Today I’ll be reviewing her single ‘ibtc’ which was released July 2nd 2021. 

‘Ibtc’ is catchy and melodious despite the obvious silly subject matter. I heard this a while ago on one social media platform or another and I was just really taken in by the self-aware and vulnerable lyrics, but what really sells it is Sad Alex’s sincerity and the word play, and evocative and complex word choice. It’s also just a bop, like I said up top, super catchy, and Alex has an incredibly soulful and pure voice which just really resonates with me. I rarely do active calls to action, but seriously if you haven’t already checked out Sad Alex, you won’t regret it.
