Tilly Lockey is an English social media personality and singer/songwriter. Tilly lost her arms as an infant due to meningococcal septicaemia and first started gaining prominence when she was successfully selected to trial a set of Bionic arms developed by Open Bionics. Since then she’s gone from strength to strength, working as a presenter for Sky Kids FYI, travelling around the world as a motivational speaker and running a successful YouTube channel. Most recently she’s tackled the music industry, and which brings me to today where I’ll be reviewing her debut single ‘Porcelain’ which was released September 29th 2023. 

‘Porcelain’ opens with a solid guitar fill that builds with subtle percussive elements throughout, and then Tilly starts singing, and she has an incredible voice, such depth and rawness, and yet she’s in complete control as she performs. The song speaks to Tilly’s own journey, and hardships and yet shows her fighting spirit and unwillingness to let hurdles stop her. It’s an amazing performance, and should she seek to continue performing, I for one would be very eager to see what she does next.
