viisi is the performing name of Canadian artist, Matthew Borley, who derives the title viisi from the Finnish word for ‘five’ which represents past, present and future. Today, I’ll be reviewing his single ‘paradise’ which was released May 17th 2024.

‘Paradise’ opens with a vibrant guitar which builds into a tight percussive melody, and viisi’s vocals kick in, his voice has a nice energy to it, and he blends seamlessly into the instrumental backing. I really enjoyed this track, and as my first exposure to the artist It has ensured that I’ll be keeping my eye out for them in the future. I’ve talked about this before but for reviews I tend to listen to the track a few times before even sitting down to review, usually while I’m meandering around or travelling, and I let each song become the soundtrack to my day. I found myself revisiting this track in between other tracks up for review because it just had such an infectious melody, not catchy in that pop ballad kind of way, but just a vibrant and engaging melody that encouraged me to listen again.
