Conor McLain is an Irish singer/songwriter and musician who creates powerful music that fuses pop and folk to spread positivity and discuss complex topics such as imposter syndrome. Today I’ll be reviewing his single ‘Who Am I’ which was released January 26th 2024

‘Who Am I’ opens with deep and soulful vocals, Conor’s voice is spectacular, and the piano accompaniment supports and elevates it even higher. The light percussive element adds in just enough texture without distracting from what is a phenomenal performance. He proves more than capable of hitting the high and heavy notes, and as first experiences with musicians go this was impressive, and he’s immediately gained a new fan. I’ve struggled a lot myself with being confident in my field of work, all I’ve ever wanted to do is write and while I’m doing that I always have that little devil on my shoulder asking if it’s worth it, if I’m even any good, and if someone who is as obviously talented as Conor also struggles with that, then it takes some of the pressure off because it shows that regardless of talent or fanbase, people can still struggle with mastering their own self worth.

So that’s what I thought of Conor McLain’s single ‘Who Am I’ and if you want to check that out for yourself then head on over to Spotify. Make sure and support the artist by checking out their website and by following them on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
