Lily Potter is an American singer/songwriter and musician from Portland, Oregon. Today, I’ll be reviewing her EP ‘The Archive’ which was released September 6th 2019.

‘Sugar N Spice’ kicks off slower and sweet, melodic, acoustic guitars flowing forward into Lily’s bright and vibrant vocals. I like songs like this, ones that have a weight and substance to them, an energy that just washes over you as you listen.

‘Oblivion’ opens with light, ukulele strings that support her sensational vocals, the bright and melodic tune just breezing onward and again you just get lost in her performance. I’m so glad I came across Lily on Instagram because it gave me the opportunity to discover this sensational release, as well as the rest of her music.

‘Sad World’ has an acoustic, ambient melody that fills you up, the balance of the voices equally adds a lot to this track, and their delicate harmonies are beautiful. The whole track has a bittersweet, dream-like quality to it that really works for me. I think overall this is probably my favourite track on the EP although it was very close.

‘The Bedhead Club’ has a similar vibe to the previous track, particularly the soft, dulcet tones, and the almost ambient, dream-like quality. It’s a very pleasing quality, and it really works for me. Lily is clearly an amazing vocalist, and her voice has an angelic quality that adds to the overall vibe for me.

‘If I Were You’ rounds things off strongly, while the last few tracks have been more subdued, this one has a little more energy and well as a bouncier, bass and percussion infused beat, all of which work really well for the track.

So that’s what I thought of Lily Potter’s EP ‘The Archive’ and you can check that out over on Spotify. While you’re at it, make sure and support the artist by following them on Instagram
