So it was such a pleasure to have the opportunity to ask JESSIA some questions, and you can check out that interview below. Make sure and check out my review of her new track by clicking here, if you haven’t already.

Tell me about yourself?
Hi! I’m JESSIA and I’m an artist, singer, and songwriter from Vancouver, Canada!

What Instrument(s) do you play, if any? And how long have you been playing your respective instruments(s)?
Currently I play the guitar and piano. Those are the two I write on the most.

Who are your biggest influences?
Jessie J, Julia Michaels, and Pink.

What song(s) do you remember most from your childhood?
I listened to a bunch of Sarah McLachlan, The Chicks, and a lot of Broadway show tunes.

Do you perform covers and if so what’s your go to?
I love performing covers! I would say one of my favorite go-to covers is Alicia Keys’ “If I Ain’t Got You.”

What genre of music do you consider your work to be?
Organic pop.

Do you have a process for writing your songs?
I write most of my songs when I’m out on walks! Then, when I have the lyrics and melodies down, I bring them into the studio!

How has your music been received?
I have the most incredible fans and I love reading their DM’s and hearing their stories! I love the community we have built around my music.

Are you planning any music releases for the near future?
Yes! I just released my last single of 2023 called “One Before The One” and I am gearing up for a few projects to be released at the beginning of next year!

Where can fans find your music?
Anywhere the stream music under JESSIA, or you can find me on socials @jessiamusic.

Do you have social media, if so please provide links?
You can find me on Twitter, Instagram and TikTok

Where have you performed? What are your favourite and least favourite venues?
I have been lucky to have toured all throughout Asia and Europe with OneRepublic. I also did a Canadian tour with Dean Lewis this year. I am excited to do a US run soon too!

Following on from that question, what has been your biggest challenge as a performer and have you been able to overcome that challenge? If so then how?
Probably imposter syndrome! It still blows my mind that people know me and my songs around the world. I still have to pinch myself sometimes!

What advice do you have for beginners?
Just start somewhere. Do one thing a day that is building on your career. Consistency is key!

And let’s end with something a little different…Which famous person, living or dead, would you have dinner with and why?
I would love to have dinner with Miley Cyrus. I think she is so cool and interesting. I think we would have some great life chats!
