Amahla is a singer/songwriter and musician from Hackney, a borough in London, she recently popped up on my feed and I was positively wowed by her talent, and her ability to deftly and authentically portray passion and pain, as well as cover difficult subject matter throughout in a way that resonates across any cultural divides. Today I’ll be reviewing her single ‘Enough’ which was released October 13th 2023.
‘Enough’ opens with big building tones that create a deep atmospheric backing to Amahla’s sensational and breathtaking vocals. You feel the depth and sincerity and empathy and pain in every note, and for just a few minutes you’re connected to something bigger, a tapestry and artistry and conflict and unity and suffering. I’m so fortunate that the algorithm pushed Amahla’s music in my path because I feel richer and more complete for having heard this track and I intend to look back on other music in her discography because artists like this don’t come along every day, ones that give you goosebumps, and make you feel something deep in the core of yourself. I strongly suggest you all click the link below and check this track out for yourself because it weaves a deceptively simple melody into something powerful, vibrant and engaging.
So that’s what I thought of Amahla’s single ‘Enough’ and if you want to check that out for yourself then head on over to Spotify. While you’re at it, make sure and support the artist by following them on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
