Annabel Gutherz is a singer/songwriter and musician from Montreal, Canada. She blends classic rock with contemporary pop to create her own unique sound. We’ve covered Gutherz on Indie Light before, and you can click here to read more. Today, I’ll be reviewing her single ‘Eclipse’ which was released December 15th 2023.
‘Eclipse’ opens with big, atmospheric rising and falling that flows into some spectacular vocals, Gutherz has an amazing voice, rich and earthy and with an undeniable star power that immediately grabs you as a listener. I really like the momentum and energy of this track, it’s not relentless but its got a great forward build, and while it’s not frenzied or cacophonous in nature I also really like the complex and consistent backing melody that serves to boost and support Gutherz already spirited and raw singing throughout. I knew I liked the artist already because I’ve already reviewed them but this was superb in a totally different way, showing the scope, scale and range of her talent as a performer.
