HAIM are a Los Angeles based rock trio made up of multi-instrumentalist sisters Alana Haim on Guitar/Keys/Vocals, Este Haim on Bass/Vocals and Danielle Haim on Lead Vocals/Guitar/Drums. The Haim sisters are Jewish, their band name, both being taken from their surname, as well as broadly, the Hebrew word for ‘Life’. Now I’ve been doing my best over Hanukkah to spotlight Jewish artists and creators and I wanted to save HAIM for last partly because they were a group I was already aware of prior to my deep dive but also the conclusion of Hanukkah this year, the 15th December also happens to be both my birthday as well as Alana’s birthday and so I figured I’d close off the festive period by covering some insanely talented musicians and also it would, hopefully, be a nice birthday treat for us both. So with that in mind, today I’ll be reviewing HAIM’s single ‘Lost Track’ which was released March 6th 2022.

‘Lost Track’ opens with jangling tones, and a little but fast percussive beat that flows perfectly into the vocals, the singer matching the rhythm of the percussion really well, the harmonies and counterpoints of the voices of the sisters work really well. Each is a talented vocalist, but the different voices add a depth and richness to the performance. I really like this track, the melody is bouncy and a little off-beat and yet I found myself just losing myself in the vibrant, flowing notes and I think it’s a good song that just catches you and takes you with it. As I said up top, I’ve listened to a few HAIM tracks now, and decided to finally take the leap and talk about how awesome they were for the site. I cannot stress highly enough how much you should check them out for yourself, I promise you, you won’t regret it.

So that’s what I thought of HAIM’s single ‘Lost Track’ and if you want to check that out for yourself then head on over to Spotify. While you’re at it, make sure and support the band by following them on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
