Cloe Wilder is a 17-year-old singer/songwriter and musician, originally from Clearwater, Florida, but who is now based in Los Angeles, California. She’s spent several years now developing her own unique brand of dark/sad pop. If you’d like to find out a little bit more about the artist, check out my interview by clicking here. Also, we’ve covered Wilder a few times before on Indie Light, and if you’re interested you can click here to read more. Today, I’ll be reviewing her single ‘Homesick’ which was released October 20th 2023.

‘Homesick’ kicks off with an energetic acoustic guitar that flows forward supporting Wilder’s angelic voice, which never fails to absolutely blow me away. This softer, sadder tinged track immediately hits you, you feel the raw and relatable emotions that Wilder is trying to get across with the song. I also has to comment as someone who’s kept an eye on the artist, and tried to review each of their releases, it’s amazing watching someone who was already so naturally talented and gifted, continue to grow and develop as an artist, crafting richly texture and emotional ballads like this that show that regardless of your age, there are things which are universal, and Wilder has a distinct talent for laying it bare, and making sensational songs that connect with you as the listener.

So that’s what I thought of Cloe Wilder’s single ‘Homesick’ and if you want to check that out for yourself then head on over to Spotify. While you’re at it, make sure and support the artist by following them on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
