The North by South is a musical project from London based musician and singer/songwriter Chris Humphries. Today I’ll be reviewing his single ‘Decay’ which was released October 31st 2023.
‘Decay’ opens light and flowing, it was neither as sad nor as thrashing as I was expecting with a title like ‘Decay’, but nonetheless it was superb, the artist has a powerful and melodic voice that’s nice to listen to, and works well for this little piece of existentialism. And while it might not be the blaring, punky ballad I was expecting, the guitar work was top notch, rich and complex and it just worked perfectly. I am really eager to hear more from The North by South after hearing this track because it’s bittersweet, engaging and well worth checking out.
