Blondshell is the moniker of Sabrina Teitelbaum and indie rock singer/songwriter and musician from Los Angeles. Teitelbaum previously performed under the name BAUM as well, where she produced more pop infused music. She identifies as Queer, Bisexual and Jewish, and these elements all inform her music to some degree or another. Today I’ll be reviewing her single ‘Kiss City’ which was released October 22nd 2022.

‘Kiss City’ opens up with a building percussive beat that bleeds into her vocals, Blondshell’s voice is lively and has a depth to it, that makes me think that she would be even more amazing to hear live. Recorded however, she’s no slouch, as this track builds, synthy tones blending into the initial percussion and suddenly the track explodes, busy and complex, an almost cacophonous backdrop attempting to drown out the artist as she projects through the powerful backing. It’s quite impressive in terms of the result and really works for the track. I cannot overstate how much you need to check out her music for yourself, you will not regret it I guarantee it because not only is she a seasoned and talented performer but this song in particular just has that wow factor that makes you remember songs long after they’ve finished playing.

So that’s what I thought of Blondshell’s single ‘Kiss City’ and if you want to check that out for yourself then head on over to Spotify. While you’re at it, make sure and support the artist by following them on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
