Joanie Leeds is a Grammy award winning singer/songwriter, composer and musician, originally from Miami, Florida but who is now based in New York City. She is probably most well known for her work as a children’s musical artist. Today, I’ll be reviewing her single ‘Rainbow Flag’ which was released September 8th 2023.
‘Rainbow Flag’ opens fast percussive claps blending with high energy vocals to create a rich and invigorating melody, the voices harmonising, but with Leeds taking point, her strong, and potent voice just melting over the top. I really liked this track, the energy, the percussive thread running through giving it a little bit more heat, but overall the performance is just tight, and truly sensational especially as an introduction to the artist. I strongly urge you to check out Leeds for yourself because she’s a powerful and dynamic performer that leaves you breathless.
