The Pale Goblin is the performing name of a Minneapolis based singer/songwriter, musician and rapper who produces his own brand of alt-pop and rap based music. I first came across the artist thanks to my newly tweaked Instagram algorithm, which has finally been showing me talented and amazing musicians, rather than cooking videos and AI recaps of movies which never mention what the movies are called. Today I’ll be reviewing his track ‘I Need You’ which was released November 22nd 2023.
‘I Need You’ opens with synthy distorted vocals and ambient melodies, which build before The Pale Goblin’s rap vocals kick in, he’s got a great flow and a nice energy to his track, and balanced slower and faster delivery, and more melodic sections throughout to create a track which is not only well composed by catchy. The lighter percussion undertone especially really works for this track, complimenting not only the other melodies throughout, but also the vocals. When reviewing I’ve got the habit of listening to a track a few times, and then taking a break before revisiting again, and then once or twice more while actually sitting down to write the review but with this one, it just hit right and I ended up listened to it about five times in a row that first time. I strongly urge you to check out the artist because they successfully create tracks that are engaging not only for their catchy beats but for a genuine vibe and sincerity that not everyone has.
So that’s what I thought of The Pale Goblin’s single ‘I Need You’ and if you want to check that out for yourself then head on over to Spotify. While you’re at it, make sure and support the artist by following them on Twitter and Instagram.
