Solene Velvet, more commonly known mononymously as just Solene, is a singer/songwriter and musician from Los Angeles who performs their own unique brand of music called Cyber Jazz. I recently reviewed one of their singles and you can check that out here. Today, though, I’ll be reviewing her single ‘Bloom’ which was released November 10th 2023.

‘Bloom’ opens big, with a synthy, atmospheric melody and builds and crescendos and fades to be replaced by darker electronic notes, and again as I expected after reviewing her previous track, those phenomenal, soulful vocals that seem to fill you up as you listen. I love tracks like this that capture big and powerful melodies which just wrap themselves around you. Because of the more offbeat nature of the previous track I didn’t get to hear as much of Solene’s voice as I did in this track, and that’s a shame because she’s incredibly talented. But yeah, this track is just so vibrant, and yet dreamy, like falling into bed after a long and busy day, your mind racing even as your body surrenders to unconsciousness. It’s a tremendous experience and one I hope you’ll share with me.
