Eliza May is alternative indie pop singer/songwriter and musician who is based in Birmingham. I came across them following our big rebrand, where I’ve been slowly tweaking the algorithm to see less AITA content and stuff ripped from Tumblr, and instead more content I’m actually interested in. This involved interacting with pretty much every single music related post that popped up on my feed, and eventually, albeit very slowly, things began to take shape and I was introduced to Eliza, the sensational artist we will be discussing in a moment. Today, I’ll be reviewing her single ‘Edge of This’ which was released January 28th 2022.
‘Edge of This’ opens with a building melody of strings and chords, quirky and lively, percussion builds in, and incorporates in with Eliza’s rich and engaging vocals. As I said up top I’m pretty much totally new to this artist, but even just hearing this track I’m confident she has star power, her vocals are transcendent when she hits the high notes, and you just get some engrossed in her performance, expertly backed up by the instrumental melody that peaks and falls in juxtaposition with her voice to create a really textured and balanced overall tune that makes me certain that I’ll be keeping an eye out for Eliza in the future.
So that’s what I thought of Eliza May’s single ‘Edge of This’ and if you want to check that out for yourself then head on over to Spotify. While you’re at it, make sure and support the artist by following them on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
