Nina West is an 21-year-old Australian/British singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, as well as a recent graduate of BIMM London, with a bachelor of Arts degree in Music. Today I’ll be reviewing Nina’s debut single ‘Trouble’ which is all about ignoring red flags, and was released November 10th 2023.

‘Trouble’ opens with gentle piano chords, first slow and staccato, before building and merging, becoming richer and more complex, a percussive beat begins to find its way into the melody. Nina West’s voice is sensational, powerful and vibrant, the kind of voice that fills concert halls. That being said, despite having a pristine natural singing voice, she uses synth driven vocals at various points to enhance the beat. Especially for a debut track this is something special, it starts off light and blends into a darker heavier beat, with awesome horn melodies infused in, which regular readers will know is an automatic win for me. The whole track is just excellent, and even after a dozen listens I’m still blown away by the talent, production and energy of the track. If you do anything today I urge you to check out this track.

So that’s what I thought of Nina West’s single ‘Trouble’ and if you want to check that out for yourself then head on over to Spotify. While you’re at it, make sure and support the artist by following them on Instagram and TikTok
