Skyler Cocco is an indie pop singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from New York. She cites the likes of MUNA, Fleetwood Mac, HAIM, Holly Humberstone and the 1975 as influences on her music. Today, I’ll be reviewing her single ‘Anxious Attachment’ which was released November 15th 2023.
‘Anxious Attachment’ has a slow fade in, the subtle percussive rhythm growing and expanding, merging with Cocco’s strong vocals, her voice clear and passionate, you feel her sincerity and emotion resonate practically from the first note, and the backing instrumental beat just adds to the milieu, providing more energy and forward momentum. I’ve been trying to get a whole host of new artists on my radar lately as we’re only a few weeks into our big rebrand, and i’m delighted to be getting submitted artists like Cocco because he’s phenomenally talented, capable of creating something deep and memorable, but with a catchy rhythm that sticks in your head as well.
So that’s what I thought of Skyler Cocco’s single ‘Anxious Attachment’ and if you want to check that out for yourself then head on over to Spotify. While you’re at it, make sure and support the artist by following them on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
