Middle Part is the performing name of Brooklyn based artist Andy Selkōw, who finds himself inspired by the music of the late 90s and early 2000s, specifically artists like Alanis Morisette, Third Eye Blind and Michelle Branch, to create his own unique brand of pop music. Today I will be reviewing Middle Part’s single ‘Get Fixed’ which was released November 8th 2023.

‘Get Fixed’ opens with a light guitar intro, and a kid singing twinkle, twinkle little star, that fleshes out into a heavier, more complete string and percussion beat, backed up by some top notch vocals. I love the energy of this track, it’s not too frenzied but it’s got energy to back up the intensity, and it balances out the heavier moments with softer more melodic sections. I struggle to define exactly what I like musically, especially since my horizons have been expanded so thoroughly by doing this job but I can say that Middle Part makes music I like, in fact you’d be hard pressed to find someone that doesn’t vibe with his track, which has that perfect balance of powerful blaring guitars, softer melodies and rich, engaging vocals that just make music good.

So that’s what I thought of Middle Part’s single ‘Get Fixed’ and if you want to check that out for yourself then head on over to Spotify. While you’re at it, make sure and support the artist by following them on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
