Georgia Reed is an Australian singer/songwriter, and the track we will be reviewing today marks her first release since her relocation to London. I’m told we can expect several more releases coming in the next few months, followed by her debut EP due out in March. Today, I’ll be reviewing her single ‘Haunted’ which was released November 8th 2023.
‘Haunted’ opens with a strong percussive beat, blending in ambient synth tones to her smoky, rich vocals that capture you and won’t let you go. The drums and her voice are in perfect unison, you sometimes risk losing a voice when you’ve got such prominent percussive elements but they balance each other out really well. Speaking of balance, the track has a nice balance of slower and more basic melodies, and then faster, busier, more complex harmonies, it creates a really richly packed, textured sound. Since the rebrand I’ve been really focusing on finding unique and vibrant sounds to review, and I’m so excited to share Reed’s track with you all because she is genuinely talented, creating a powerful and memorable track that’s heavy and yet filled with energy that carries you through to the end. I cannot wait to hear the upcoming tracks from Reed because if this is any indication I’m going to like them a lot.
So that’s what I thought of Georgia Reed’s single ‘Haunted’ and if you want to check that out for yourself then head on over to Spotify. While you’re at it, make sure and show support for the artist by following them on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
