Lockyer Boys are a Thunder Bay based pop sibling duo made up of Will and Charlie Lockyer. Today I’ll be reviewing their single ‘DRIVE!’ which features a collaboration with Alan Poettcker from These Kids Wear Crowns, and was released November 10th 2023.

‘DRIVE!’ opens with a faded in distortion that flows into light and energetic vocals, the percussion layered underneath, consistent and well paced adding a sense of pacing and urgency to this engaging and rhythmic track. The Lockyer Boys have strong voices, and you just get caught up in the melody and beat of this track, as it pushes forward. I like that it’s not just relentless energy either, it has highs and lows that help to balance it out. I also really like the synth vibe throughout, it’s not overwhelming, instead it serves to enhance an already good thing, making it better. I literally got this track today, and I’d never heard of the band prior, but I enjoyed this submission so much that they have at least one more fan, two if you count Tori B Bearly, who asked me to play it again because it was really fun.

So that’s what I thought of the Lockyer Boys single ‘DRIVE!’ and if you want to check that out for yourself then head on over to Spotify. While you’re at it, make sure and support the band by following them on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
