Flor are a three piece alt-pop outfit from Hood River, Oregon made up of Zach Grace on Lead Guitar & Vocals, Dylan Bauld on Bass and Kyle Hill on Drums. Today I’ll be reviewing their single ‘Same Color As The Sun’ which was released October 27th 2023.

‘Same Color As The Sun’ opens with vibrant, ambient tones that bleeds into acoustic guitars, and finally the percussion and vocals merge in together, creating a very cool rhythmic melody. The vocals are superb, Zach’s vocal is rich and pleasing to the ear, and his voice works well with the instrumentals, both working together rather than combating each other. I really like the beat and energy of this track, it has momentum but isn’t too fast, and you just kinda get caught up in the tune and get swept away. I really enjoyed this track and cannot wait to hear more from Flor as they are definitely a band I want to keep an eye on now. I really love how it gets busier and higher energy as the track progresses, never overwhelmingly so, but you can feel the track building to the end, before breaking and slowing down, creating a really well balanced track that keeps your attention to the very end.
