Whole Damn Mess is a musical project that spans several musical genres, with passion being the real defining key to their music. They have several members, which include lifelong friends Don Miggs, Greg Hansen, C. Todd Nielsen, and Lawrence Katz. Today I’ll be reviewing their single ‘Into The Great Unknown’ which was released November 3rd 2023.
‘Into The Great Unknown’ has a big opening build before heady percussion and frenzied strings blow in, and then a drop, slowing down to a simpler but equally awesome string melody, and some sweet vocals. I love the energy and highs and lows of this track, add to that it’s just incredibly catchy and you’ve already won me over. I touched on the vocals and want to return to that for a moment, just incredibly sharp and powerful, there’s never a moment where they seem to be fighting against the instrumentals, instead they both work in tandem making a track that truly knocks it out of the park. I’m glad I got a chance to listen to Whole Damn Mess, because this track has earned them a fan, and if you do anything today I suggest you check them out for yourself, because you’re in for a group, that values high energy, entertaining and engaging performance, and songs that have a real feel to them as well.
So that’s what I thought of Whole Damn Mess’s single ‘Into The Great Unknown’ and you can check that out for yourself over on Spotify. Make sure and show your support for the band by following them on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
