Chaotic Bling is a small independently owned business and creative endeavour by internet personality, Fay Kanevsky, more commonly known online, by their social media handles ‘faythegay’ or ‘faythefae’.
Fay is incredibly talented, relentlessly compassionate, especially considering that Internet discourse, to put it nicely, is not always kind, engaging, or otherwise palatable. She wears many hats both as an individual and as a creator, producing cosplay content that’s both fun and informative. You may specifically remember her cosplaying as Ms. Frizzle from The Magic School Bus, and if you somehow missed that adorable homage to the eccentric school teacher, then click here to say a TikTok. I will say, though, I am totally obsessed with her cosplay of Crowley, from Good Omens, which you can check out here.
When they aren’t dressing as a character from a popular show, book, or movie. Fashion and clothing still play an important part in their online identity. I particularly enjoyed their project trying on different fashion styles until they reached 100k followers on Instagram. They made it genuinely entertaining even for the less fashion focused of her audience.
Fay as I’ve mentioned has fun, and creates fun and engaging content but perhaps the most important role they hold is as an agent of advocacy, for the LGBT+ community, for people living with disabilities and for members of the Jewish community. Being a member of any of those groups can and often does come with is share of negative discourse, and yet, as I’ve said earlier, Fay has consistently managed to push through hate and negativity to produce content that engages members of her audience whether they are members of any of those groups or not. In particular, how unflinchingly honest she is as she educates her followers on living with disabilities has been incredibly refreshing. So I think that gives you plenty of reasons to check out Fay and see why she’s more than earned her 1.6 million followers on TikTok and 106K followers on Instagram.
Now that I’ve introduced Fay and let’s me honest, info dumped about a creator who inspires me. Let’s return to why we are here today, boosting her businesses, Chaotic Bling, and FayDoodles.
Her primary business, Chaotic Bling, sells a variety of products, including jewellery, crocheted clothes, and critters, and related to her second business, FayDoodles, she also sells a variety of paintings and Sketches
Fay’s personal brand is very bright, colourful, and cute, and this comes across in their own designs and products, with the whole store benefiting from her own unique sense of style
I strongly recommend you check out the site for yourself and I’ll link it down below as well as elsewhere in this article but I’m also going to share a few of my favourite items available to hopefully pique your interest.
I’ll be honest, due to my ADHD and dyspraxia, while I can appreciate nice jewellery, I’ve never been good about keeping or wearing any long term because they invariably end up getting broken, these are all so lovely I can’t help but share some of the options.
So I love these Rosé wine bottle earnings. They are cute, and I know a few people who’d really appreciate them. As a non-binary person and a lover of critters, I absolutely adore these They/Them earrings. I’m especially partial to the dinosaurs. But Fay is selling different options, with different pronouns, too. Oh, I also can not literally move forward with the article without sharing these awesome robot earrings.

For Hanukkah, this year, I made a deliberate effort to try and support some awesome and talented Jewish creators. I had a lot of fun discovering new musicians, especially those who weren’t on my radar previously. I admire Fay’s connection to her cultural and religious roots, and so perhaps my favourite design are these nifty Dreidel earrings that are just super cool and come in several colours.

Moving away from jewellery to the crocheted items, check out this Wizard Hat. Dark Magician Girl, anyone? It’s awesome and handmade and absolutely gorgeous. If you’re like me, then you love frogs, so check out this cute Froggy hat. As treasurer and one of the founding members of Unity League, a Scottish LGBT+ community group, I love representation, so these Bi Flag coloured fishnet gloves are perfectly, and why not grab the matching hat while you’re at it. Speaking of representation, I urge you to grab this rainbow sweater. Not only does it look amazing on, but you’ll be bringing joy wherever you go, too.

So I’m updating this in part also to share it as part of ‘Under the Christmas Tree’, an initiative I’m running this year from the 17th to the 24th where each day I share a small business where you can grab that elusive perfect gift over the festive period. While any and all of Fay’s products would make a great present, they’ve also got some nifty holiday themed items too, including these snowmen earrings or these little gift box earrings as well.

Lastly, as I touched on alongside Chaotic Bling, Fay also sells their art, there a small amount of it available on their site, but the rest is posted to their FayDoodles Instagram. It’s a mixture of art in different mediums and styles, showing both Fay’s experimentation as an artist as well as their skills and range. If you are interested in purchasing some of their art for yourself, then you can grab some pieces directly from the site, but most of their physical art is on their Instagram, where you can DM Fay to commission a piece, or purchase one of her listed pieces.
