Cloe Wilder is an indie pop singer/songwriter and musician from Clearwater, Florida. We’ve had the good fortune to talk with Wilder, and you can click here to check out that interview. This also isn’t out first time covering Wilder either, and you can click here to read more. Today, I’ll be reviewing her single ‘One Step Closer’ which was released June 22nd 2022.
‘One Step Closer’ opens with a delicate piano melody, and Wilder’s voice is sensational as always, as I said up top I’ve really enjoyed the opportunity to see her grow as an artist and this track just proves how far she’s come because honestly her skill, her range, her soulful and impactful delivery are just breathtaking. This is a gentle track, an emotional one, but I really like the counterpoint of adding in just a little percussive depth, and mixing in the tight, guitar riff which all come together to add some texture and roughness to the otherwise sort of ambient melody. I really enjoyed this track, it lingers in the back of the mind and is just phenomenal.
