Katherine Li is a singer/songwriter and musician from Toronto, Canada. I first came across Li over on Instagram, when I heard a snippet of their song, and I liked it, unfortunately my app feed refreshed and I spent a literal hour backtracking to find her again. I’m glad I went to all that effort because Li is not a musician I’d want to miss. Today, I’ll be reviewing her single ‘Never Had a Chance’ which was released April 3rd 2022.

‘Never Had a Chance’ blows you away from the first moment, Li’s voice is transcendent and it just scoops you up and takes you on a journey of about 2 minutes and 25 seconds. She has a depth and range to her voice that is just breathtaking. Like I said I came across this track just by chance on Instagram and as soon as I heard the first bit I knew not only did I need to hear the full song, but I needed to review it, because that’s why I do this, for the chance to hear phenomenal vocalists like Li. I haven’t touched much on the instrumental backing, but it creates a smooth ambient melody to perfectly support the overall performance. I can guarantee that I will be keeping an eye out for Li after hearing this track.
