Scott Patterson, also known as Scott P, is an actor, musician and businessman. He is probably best known for his role as Luke Danes on Gilmore Girls. He has recently started his own coffee business, a nod to his role in the aforementioned show, and how the titular characters were coffee obsessed. It’s called ‘Scotty P’s Big Mug Coffee’ and I can personally attest to the quality and standard of the coffee he sells. However, it’s his music career that we are here to discuss, and this isn’t the first time we’ve reviewed his music either, and you can click here to read more. Today, though, I’ll be reviewing his single ‘Surrender’ which was released May 28th 2021.

‘Surrender’ opens with soft, melodic piano chords that guide us in, and as Patterson’s vocals kick in I guarantee you will be hooked on this man’s music. His voice is strong, and deep, and yet he injects a remarkable amount of sincerity and vulnerability into his performance. I love tracks where you just kind of have to experience it, you still back and let it wash over you and Patterson has created an emotionally powerful song that is well worth listening to. I also want to add that while the piano throughout was lovely, the guitar sections were tremendous; they really added to the overall feel of the track.
