Jonathan Young is an American singer/songwriter, producer and YouTuber from San Diego, California. I first came across Young when he was featured in a collaboration with Caleb Hyles, another musician and YouTuber, who we’ve also covered on Indie Light, and if you’re interested you can click here to read more. Speaking of previous coverage, we’ve also talked about Young before on the site, and you can click here to check that out. Today, though, I’ll be reviewing his cover of ‘In the Dark of the Night’ from the Anastasia soundtrack, which was released March 15th 2016.

‘In the Dark of the Night’ opens with the electronic driven melody, and Jonathan delivering the vocals in a deep, booming voice, adding depth and gravitas to the track. I always felt like this song needed to be more intense, I mean it’s the emotional focus of the movie, Rasputin’s revenge. And Jonathan Young delivers a phenomenal and fully realised cover of this track, with the appropriate energy and power to really make something that not only does justice to the original but is in many ways better.

So that’s what I thought of Jonathan Young’s cover of ‘In the Dark of the Night’ and if you want to check that out for yourself then head on over to YouTube. While you’re at it, make sure to check out his website and Patreon and support the artist by following them on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
