A few years ago while strolling down the ‘Artists Alley’ at a local Comic Con based here in Scotland I was struck with the notion that while my platform has allowed me to do a great deal for a variety of creators, I could still be doing more. I decided that I wanted to expand what we did here at Indie Light to continue to spotlight talented and passionate creatives. Thus our promo spot was born, there you’ll be able to find a variety of features on a whole host of independent artists, crafters, designers and creators.
It’s just such an individual I’ll be spotlighting today. I’m still working out exactly how best to do these features, especially since our big rebrand, but I think firstly I’ll introduce you to the woman behind the business, and then I can tell you more about the specifics of her business.
So please let me introduce you to Suzy Berhow, who is also known by online as Mortem3r. As I outlined above, the promo spot is specifically to spotlight people who have a unique talent or a relentless passion for exploring and discovering new things. This certainly describes Suzy, as she’s tackled industries and projects as diverse and as difficult as modelling, acting, animation and YouTube with grace and competency. You can see many of her cartoons over on her YouTube channel, Meeperfish. You can also see her fashion and lifestyle vlogs over on another of her channels, Mortem3r.
She is also noted for her association with Game Grumps, which I won’t linger on for too long, as I’d like to stay focused on Suzy. I will say however, it was as co-host of Table Flip, a project connected with their channel that I first had a proper opportunity to appreciate Suzy as a content creator. I really enjoyed the series as a whole because of its focus on tabletop and card based games, which as a games demonstrator for Asmodee is right in my wheelhouse. Table Flip was a comfort show when I was struggling through the worst of my depression, and Suzy was a large part of what made that show so entertaining and comforting.
I cannot talk about gaming and Suzy without of course mentioning her Let’s Play channel, KittyKatGaming. I loved the whole thing from the adorable graphics and designs, to the game choices, and again it was a fantastic chance to see Suzy shine as a content creator, both solo and with the occasional guest. I took some time to create Top 10 lists for KittyKatGaming, both one-offs and extended playthroughs, and if you’re so inclined you can check those out by click here and here.
While I totally understand the logistics behind it, much like with the ending of Table Flip, I was sad to see it end. I am glad, however, that Suzy has since continued to follow her passions, which leads us nicely on to why we are here today. I would like to give a super special ‘Indie Light’ shout out to Psychic Circle Oddities, which is a Los Angeles based, one woman business, started back in 2012 by Suzy which caters to those with a love for the unique, the mysterious, the macabre and the spiritual. All ordered shipped by Psychic Circle Oddities are in eco-friendly packaging, and are carbon neutral as well, a very important concern, especially if you’re ordering internationally.
So what exactly does Psychic Circle Oddities sell? Well as I touched on above, and very much in keeping with Suzy personal style and brand, there’s a lot of spooky, gothic or occult styled items. The range of items is especially impressive, as they have stickers, pins, shirts, mugs and necklaces just to name a few. Now I won’t go through everything exhaustively because that would be boring for you to read, and it would deprive you of the need to actually visit Suzy’s site afterwards, and if you’re budget allows I do strongly suggest you head over there after reading as each sale helps support a thriving and passionate creator.
For stickers I’m particular taken by this awesome Baphomet sticker, which is as saucy as it is satanic. And may however judges the karmic scales please not judge me for saying saucy, I was going for alliteration and got stuck. Joking aside, I also absolutely adore this spirit board set, the artwork is lush, and I love the almost glow in the dark colour style.

I’ve had the super awesome Y Incision embroidered sweater on my wishlist since last year, and assuming it doesn’t disappear on my I’m making a promise to treat myself in the New Year and grab one, or at the very least snag the equally cool looking shirt version. If that rad piece of finery doesn’t take your fancy, well how about this Forest Decay shirt, it’s stylish and ghoulish. If you want to represent an awesome brand like Psychic Circle Oddities, you can get this cool logo shirt too.

I couldn’t move on without giving a mention to the necklaces, I was particularly taken by the crying planchette which was a unique combination of images, that immediately screamed buy me! I also love pentagrams, in fact the first gift my fiancee got me was a pentagram wrist band, which I wear whenever I’m feeling a little overwhelmed so I was excited to see this solid and rather striking Pentagram necklace.

As someone marrying into a family with two practicing witches, the supernatural is an important part of my life, and I’d like to finish today by sharing these super cool candles intended for manifesting your goals, and this equally whimsically and practical kit for getting started as a witch.

As well as some of the highlighted items above, Psychic Circle Oddities is home to many other fantastic items. Plus everything sold in the store is unique and exclusive to the store so you cannot find them anywhere else. I cannot recommend this store highly enough, not only are all of the items high quality, hand picked designs, but I’ve scarcely been able to find anyone who has anything bad to say, which is rare considering how negative the internet can be sometimes.
I think that’s all I have to say for now, if you want to keep up to date with Suzy personally you can follow them on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and If you want to check out more Psychic Circle Oddities, you can visit the website, check them out on Etsy or follow them on Facebook and Instagram.
