Indie Light

Luxe is the performing name of London based, Welsh singer/songwriter and musician, Lukas Beynon. He takes inspiration for his music from dance music artists such as Ali Love (from the British-American electronic/house music group Hot Natured) as well as South London based singer/songwriter, RAYE. Today, I’ll be reviewing his single ‘Circles’ which was released December 3rd 2021.

‘Circles’ has a nice, bouncy tune with a catchy, percussive beat and a strong, consistent energy. I think this is the first dance track I’ve gotten in a while and despite having no natural rhythm I would say this would get me up and moving. I don’t usually get this type of music either, and when I hear strong examples like this it makes me want to keep my eyes and ears open for more like it. Anyway, I really liked the hook of this track, it had a strong choral loop, that really stays on message and successfully gets stuck in your head. Overall, this is a really good track, which is enhanced by vocals from Luxe’s whose voice has an almost dreamlike quality to it, especially when blended beneath an electronic melody.
