Rory & The Island is the performing name of Rory Gallagher, a singer/songwriter and musician from County Donegal in Northern Ireland. Today, I’ll be reviewing his single ‘Donna Don’t Take My Summer’ which was released August 6th 2021.
‘Donna Don’t Take My Summer’ opens with a nice, funky intro, percussion and guitars with a nice energy to it. Rory’s vocals really bring the whole thing together though, he has a softer, vocal style that meshes really well with the instrumental backing. I hear a whole lot of music running this site, but occasionally I get to hear a song that I just absolutely love from start to finish for one reason or another, and this because of its good vibe and quirky beat earns a place among some of my favourites.
