Yona Marie is the performing name of singer/songwriter and musician, Rachel Marie, who was born and raised in Maryland, and lived across various parts of Washington D.C. Her performing name was inspired by the manga, Yona of the Dawn, which I strongly suggest you check out if you’re into epic fantasy and romance, it also has an anime adaptation if that’s more your speed. Anyways, today I’ll be reviewing her single ‘Take Me To The Moon’ which was released July 21st 2021.

‘Take Me To The Moon’ opens with an electronic driven percussive beat that blends well with Yona vocals, her voice blends passion and melody perfectly. I really liked the synthy vocal harmonies during the chorus, they flesh out the track. Overall, this had a really strong rhythmic core, and you just kind of get caught up in the energy of it. It also has a really catchy hook that has you humming the song after it’s done. I hadn’t heard of the artist prior to them submitting their track but the quality of this one will have me keeping an eye out for releases in the future.

So that’s what I thought of Yona Marie’s single ‘Take Me To The Moon’ and if you want to check that out for yourself then head on over to Spotify. While you’re at it, make sure and support the artist by following them on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
