Indie Light

AlienBlaze is a 19-year-old singer/songwriter from the UK, whose music blends the genres of emo, grunge and rock. Today, I’ll be reviewing their single ‘Broken Hearted Or What?’ which was released June 24th 2021.

‘Broken Hearted Or What?’ opens with a building musical crescendo that breaks into the hard driven, percussive backed vocals of AlienBlaze. Her voice is strong and distinct, despite the heavy backing instrumentals, she never seemed to be fighting against it to be heard. The track was richly layered, with a powerful drive throughout. I liked the edge of this track, I get a nice mix of music on Indie Light, but it’s always good when I get a track like this that steps even further out of the box and gives something that’s energetic and has a real lifeforce to it.
