Maya Jane is the performing name of Scottish singer/songwriter Maya McCrae. She wrote the track we will be discussing to help her better understand mental health, specifically because one of her friends has depression, and she wanted to be better equipped to help her. So yeah, today, we will be reviewing Maya’s debut single ‘Everyday’s the Same’ which was released October 12th 2020.

‘Everyday’s the Same’ kicks off fast, a blazingly fast guitar section, that flows perfectly with Maya Jane’s strong, vibrant vocals. Because I was informed of the back story behind this track ahead of listening to it, I was surprised by its energy. But honestly it really works, it just hammers forward, and honestly Jane is a tremendous singer, and you just get caught up in the rhythm of her track. This was the debut release from the artist but I’m excited for more based on this song. I especially liked the more melodic vocalisations towards the end, which showed a different, softer side to the track, and shook things up as the song drew to a close.

So that’s what I thought of Maya Jane’s single ‘Everyday’s the Same’ and if you want to check that out for yourself then head on over to Spotify. While you’re at it make sure and support this artist by following them on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
