Unity League (or Kilmarnock Unity League) is an East Ayrshire based community group, operated by a hardworking and dedicated team of volunteers, all of whom are members of the LGBT+ community. They created Unity League as a hub of support, friendship and engagement for other members of the LGBT+ community in and around Ayrshire.

The group was started back in June 2019, with the simple goal of providing a safe space, through weekly drop-in meetings, where people could come along and socialise in a no pressure environment with likeminded individuals, and where they could take part in a variety of scheduled activities such as movie or game nights. These meeting continued from June 2019, regularly, every single week, even during lockdown, the group continued to meet digitally via services such as Google Meets or Zoom so that its regular members would still have a sense of community during those unprecedented events.

Unfortunately as of early 2023, Unity League meetings have been place on an extended hiatus, due to the loss of their former regular meeting place in Kilmarnock town centre. However, the committee is still active, and there are tentative plans for the group to begin searching for a new place to host weekly meetings starting in Autumn 2024, so if you have any leads for mid-sized locations, which are either free or low cost, and which are located in or around the Kilmarnock area, then please contact the group as they are eager to bring the group back, and continue to provide a valuable service to the community.
