Beth Macari is a singer/songwriter and musician based in Newcastle, and this isn’t my first time reviewing the artist either, if you’re interested you can click here to read more. Today, though, I’ll be reviewing her single ‘I Promise (that I got you’ which us part of a musical project, split into five chapters, with each of the music videos combining together to become a short film of sorts. This first entry was released April 3rd 2020.

‘I Promise (that I got you)’ has a powerful little speech to begin with, before the song starts in earnest, the smooth melody supports her vocals perfectly, the music and the visuals at least for me evoke a feel of the roaring 20s, with the big band music and the sultry voiced singers in clubs, drinking and having a good time. Imagery aside, this song is just captivating, I’ve talked about Beth’s voice before but it’s particularly powerful in this track, you feel her passion and fire, both coming across, and suddenly you are at the end, swept along in this rich, engaging track.

So that’s what I thought of Beth Macari’s single ‘I Promise (that I got you)’ and if you want to check that out for yourself then head on over to YouTube. Don’t forget to  support the artist by following them on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
