The Churchhill Garden is a musical project from Andy Jossi, who is also behind The Blue Herons. As it happens this isn’t the first time I’ve reviewed his musical projects either, and you can click here to read my thoughts on his music from The Churchill Garden, and click here for The Blue Herons. Today, though, I’ll be reviewing their single ‘Surrender’ which was released December 12th 2019.
‘Surrender’ has a slow paced, atmospheric intro, with a nice blend of percussion and strings, that carry you through the melodic dreamscape that is this track. The vocals compliment this initial feel as well, they are soft and easy, beautiful and transcendent, all giving this overall dreamy quality. I think it works really well for the track to the point where the full 7 minutes and 14 seconds of the track slip by in a beautiful haze as you are just swept away by the track, even the heavier section at the end serves as a kind of awakening, shaking you up a little right as the track comes to a conclusion.
So that’s what I thought of The Churchhill Garden’s single ‘Surrender’ and if you want to check that out for yourself then head on over to Bandcamp. Make sure and support the project by following them on Facebook and Twitter or by visiting their website.
