Karma for Vandals are a four piece post-rock band based in Aberdeen, Scotland made up of Duncan Burgess on Guitar, Scott Bathgate on Guitar and Playback, Michael Miller on Bass Guitar and Murray Bartle on Drums. Today I’ll be reviewing their single ‘Knights were Basically Golfers’ which was released January 15th 2019.
‘Knights were Basically Golfers’ opens with a piercing atmospheric series of notes, that build and grow faster, more complex notes start to join, and the whole thing has a fantastic rise with great pay off at the other end. It explodes into some truly excellent strings, and some well timed percussion that add so much to the whole thing. Now I’ve been noted to be quite positive in my reviews, and that’s true, I never lie, and I’ll give criticism where it’s due but overall I’m quite positive, and it’s easy to see why when I get whoppers like this, it’s just such a solid track, also side note but there’s a section roughly in the middle that reminds me of the theme from Batman Beyond, which would have got me for nostalgia reasons even if the track wasn’t already great on its own.
So that’s what I thought of Karma for Vandals single ‘Knights were Basically Golfers’ and if you want to check that out then head on over to Spotify. And while you’re at it make sure and support the band by following them on Facebook and Twitter.
